Uzbekistan Expands Renewable Energy in Line with Strategic Goals
Uzbekistan continues to expand the use of renewable energy sources, demonstrating its commitment to previously announced goals in energy transformation. According to Euronews Business, the country is actively developing solar and wind energy projects, gradually increasing the share of clean energy in the national energy balance.
The Uzbek government is working with international investors and technology partners to build new generation facilities and modernize existing infrastructure. Solar parks, wind farms, and supporting transmission networks are being implemented across different regions, enhancing energy capacity and reliability.
Hydropower continues to play an important role as one of the most stable components of the energy system. Projects are underway to modernize existing hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) and improve their performance, supporting consistent generation and increasing the flexibility of the energy system.
The development of all three key renewable energy sectors—solar, wind, and hydropower—is part of a long-term strategy aimed at strengthening energy security, reducing carbon emissions, and creating a more diversified energy system. The consistent implementation of these projects contributes to expanding production capacity, regional development, and attracting additional investment.
Through this integrated approach, Uzbekistan is gradually moving towards a more stable and balanced energy model while steadily advancing toward its strategic renewable energy targets.
